shralp! FAQ

How do I subscribe and what is this podcasting thing?
Check out our how to subscribe page.

I love the song. I would love to know who the band’s name is and the song name.
Please check the post for that episode on shralp.com for the band names. Whenever we picked the music we will will give full credit. Including everything we know. Sometimes though we get stuff from other companies/producers/organizers and they don’t tell us what band or song it is. In that case, we try to post a link to our source. So please check with them. And again. Everything we know about the music played we post on shralp.com.

Is it maybe possible to place links to download some music form the videos?
Sort of the same answer as above. Whenever we have the link to the band or platform where the band provides it’s songs, we post that link. We jut don’t have more information at hand.

I have a clip on You Tube. Do you like it? Or
I have a video that I made, do you want it for shralp!?
Basically we love your work. There are marvelous pieces of snowboarding film documentary out there that we like to show. See also the next question for how to get it to us and music rights:

How do I get a video clip to you? We like your clip!
We cannot use You-Tube footage directly. You need to prepare a clip before sending it to us.
First make your clip crisp and short (60 seconds max) and we might include it in one of our next episodes.
Save/Export the clip in the best quality with reasonable file size. MP4 - h.264 compression 640×480 would be best. This should keep you file size under 3 MB. Now you can send it to us. You get the e-mail address by using the contact form on shralp.com .
Please include some information about you, the riders, the location etc.
BTW - no music except you own the rights. Just providing a link to a band on Myspace does not automatically allow you to use their music. You need the actual permission!

Can I link to your videos?
Of course you can. Link to shralp.com or an individual episode.

Why don’t you do shralp skate!, shralp kite!, shralp MTB etc.?
Simple answer: We just don’t have the time for more.

Can we use the videos on our site?
Yes you can, but you need to use our source. What we mean is: Don’t download an episode and upload it again somewhere else. Why is that? We will loose track of how many people watch shralp. Some episodes are available on YouTube or Sevenload. Of course you can embed these clips in your site.
Actually we are working on a solution, that enables you to embed shralp! directly on your website.
In that context we ask you not to upload episodes to other platforms. It just makes our life difficult. See also: “Why don’t you post your videos on our platform?

Can you link to my blog?
Sure, if it fits the shralp! universe. Send us a link with your blog that has a link to shralp! and we gat back to you.

Some more business related questions.

Can we licensing shralp for using it on our platform (cable, mobile, on demand etc.)?
No! Sorry, shralp! is a news show and a lot of content aggregated and we just own the rights to use it in the (free!) shralp video podcast. But we are happy to help you find good snowboard and surf related content that might be of interest for you.

We like shralp! and we have a cool platform. Why don’t you post your videos on our platform, too?
We have this very often, so this is always our first answer:
shralp! is created with a lot of passion, time, effort and even money. We like to share the unique shralp! content with video distribution platforms and there are a lot of platforms that want to distribute shralp!. Every new platform means extra work for us, which we are willing to take under a few conditions:
* Please explain your business model. Do you have revenue share models?
* We need weekly statistics on how many views the individual episode had.
* We cannot manually upload individual episodes, but RSS feeds are available. Other processes are negotiable.
* If you operate a commercial platform, we expect revenue share, which needs to be negotiated.
* The shralp! brand name must be communicated and a back link must be provided.
* We reserve the right to make individual episodes unavailable on short notice.
* We might stop the cooperation at any time.
* We might include/embed advertising into the episodes.
We apologize for this strict approach, but after two years of creating video podcasts, we at shralp! need to make sure the shralp! content is treated in a respectful and fair manner.

We want to advertise on shralp! Can we do this?
Good choice! shralp snow has at least 20,000 downloads per episode with most episodes get 30,000, some 40,000 downloads. Figure from shralp surf! are a little lower. The audience is very committed and loyal, so shralp is a really great platform to communicate your message. We are very flexible an willing to develop great ideas. What we don’t like is simple pre roll advertising. So use the contact form and get in touch with us.

We have an advertising team who will get advertisers for you show. Are you interested?
Basically we are very interested. But we have to admit, that most offers that we get, do not really fit the shralp! attitude. If you think you understand the nature of shralp!, the value of the unique audience and have more to offer than a 0.005 $ per download pre-roll ad, please contact us through our contact form.
