Watch the complete final of the 2012 Air & Style Beijing. 16-year old Yuki Kadono (JPN) took home the victory of the Oakley Shaun White Air & Style Beijing 2012 at the Bird´s Nest Olympic Stadium, sticking a Backside Triple Cork 1440 Mute in the last run. See all runs of the Semi-Final and Final.
How its this for a season start? A 16 year old wins the first 6Star, the Air & Style Beijing with the very last run of the contest. Couldn’t be more nail biting.
But let go into round 3 first – The Semi Final: 8 riders left – competing head-to-head.
Heat one Peetu Piiroinen kicked out Sage Kosteburg with this Double Cork. Sages version of the trick, also with a gnarly japan tweak just wasn’t enough.
Heat two: Roope tried to impress with a – what they call here – 1260 Late Cork. But that wasn’t enough to beat Stale and his backside 1440.
In the next heat Mark McMorris showed an impressive Trippe Cork. But Mathias Weissenbacher and his unique double Rodeo bet him by less than 2 points.
In Heart 4 Torgeir also showed a Double Cork. But Yuki’s version got almost 15 points more, which made him the 4th and last contestant for the super finals.
In the Super Final every rider has three runs, best one counts.
4th place went to Austrian Mathias Weissenbacher.
Stale Sandbech made it onto the podium.
2 time TTR Champ Peetu Piiroinen became 2nd.
And we heard it at the beginning, 16-year old Yuki Kadono from Japan took home the victory sticking a Backside Triple Cork 1440 Mute in the last run of the contest in front of more than 15,000 spectators.
