TTR World Snowboard Tour Champion: Kevin Pearce
The race is over. Kevin Pearce is the new TTR World Snowboard Tour Champion.
Welcome to shralp! #94 from March 23rd 2008.
Kevin just had a fabulous season winning TTR 6 Star events like the Air and Style Munich and The Arctic Challenge. 3rd place at the US Open Pipe Contest was just enough for him to win the Champion Title.
Shaun White, who didn’t show up at many competitions this year, was doing good the last few events. Winning the World Superpipe Championships two weeks ago and Pipe and Slope at the US Open this week made him 4th on the TTR ranking list. 3rd place went to Risto Mattila. Peetu Piiroinen who had 3rd places in Innsbuck, Davos and Oslo, made it second in the world ranking in the end.

TTR 5 Star Waengl Taengl
March 7th 2006 / Mayrhofen, Zillertal, Austria
A lot of the big shots were raging at the Gap Session in Garmisch - see more footage later in this episode - when just less then 2 hours away the TTR 5 Star Wängl Tängl was going of. Every rider had to show his best on both lines: The kicker and the alternative line.
Rider of the year Wolle Nyvelt handled the unfortunate weather conditions well. 3rd place for him in the end.
Elias Elhardt, did an extremely stylish FS 3 Stale on the first kicker and went for a technical BS 9 - Cab 9 Combo on the lower kicker. He also made good use of the alternative line with his front flip of the hip.
In the end it was Andreas Gidlund who rode better than everyone else. He threw down a brilliant Alternative Line including the most technical trick of the week on the Down Rail, which was voted Railtrick of the day, giving him a brand new BMX bike. However his Kicker Line was even better. FS 10, BS 9 and Switch BS 7 in addition to his Alternative Line made sure he is not only going home with a BMX, but also with a brand new Motocross bike.

Big Mountain Pro
Feb 24th - Mar 2nd 2008 / The Alps, Europe
Travelling around the Alps, expenses all paid: sounds like fun if you like gnarly mountains, steep with lots of rocks.
The Big Mountain Pro Started in Chamonix on February 24th and ended in La Grave on March 2nd. In between 13 Freeskieres and 11 Snowboarders went to ride some massive faces in France, Switzerland and Italy.
On the last day the riders had to watch 4 hours of video footage to choose the winner. Lucky you, seeing the condensed version here at shralp! Second place went to Xavier de le Rue. We saw him already. First place: Jeremy Jones : watch him!
