Shaun White wins Snickers Classic
TTR 4 Star Snickers Classic & Popcorn Wallride / April 19-20 2008 / Saas Fee, Switzerland
Welcome to shralp!, episode 97 from May 4th, 2008. You heard Juuso: In its second year this contest is a classic already.
Saturday was finals day and the riders demanded a jam session. Organizers did what they were told, canceled the finals, superfinals schedule and had 24 riders in a two hour jam session. And they even changed the scoring format from best run to overall performance.
And Shaun White showed up, which made the TTR people sweat. Kevin Pearce was announced Champion (see episode 95) but if Shaun wins he will have more points than Kevin making him the winner of this season. Of course Shaun won and he is now leader of the TTR ranking. Word is, TTR awarded him some 50k of extra cash for being season’s #1 and Kevin will stay World Champ. Pecunia non olet - money doesn’t smell.
Sunday was wallride day. Lot’s of cool riding there, too. In the end Denis Supersaxo became first showing a handplant at this 8 meter wall.
Seppe Smits beeing 4th and 3rd in slopestyle and wallride receptively became King of Popcorn .

More than 60 kids at Peanut Butter and Rail Jam European finals
European PBRJ Championhips / April 12 2008 / Grindelwald, Switzerland
After a qualification tour through all of Europe the Peanut Butter and Rail Jam crowned it’s champions in Grinelwald on April 12th. More than 60 kids were invited and all of them were stoked. When they got up they were confronted with an amazing set-up right underneath the north face of the infamous Eiger Mountain.
After intense shralping 4 riders - Kari Oppsal Maeland, Øivind Andersen, Marc Swoboda and Anssi Paatero - ended up winning tickets to the US PBRJ Champs and a chance to walk away with some of the 40.000 USD up for grabs.
Marc Swoboda by the way, winner of the Men’s Senior Division, pulled the amazing task of winning, in spite of riding someone else’s board, after breaking his own in the qualifiers.
