TTR 6 Star The Arctic Challenge

Snow, more snow, most snow! Welcome to shralp!#120 from March 22nd 2009.
The Arctic Challenge is famous for Terje Haakonsen’s Highest Airs - go to shralp.com and watch the world record in Episode 64 (http://shralp.com/snow/2007/shralp-64-from-march-18th-2007/). This time Terje again launched the highest air of the day, with a 6,5 meter high Backside 5 nosegrab.
Antti Autti had five solid runs consting of a nice fs 720 melon, a bs 5 nosegrab, a bs air where he fell, and a fs 9 tail inverted at 4 meters, which put him in third.
Matt Ladley won the best trick of the day with a sweet backside 540 mute at 5,4 meters. His other runs consisted of a clean and a not so clean chuckflip melon, a bs 7 mute and a bailed bs 900 nosegrab. He became 2nd.
Arthur Longos five runs consisted of a 6 meter high bs air that he unfortunately didn`t stick, a bs tailgrab, a bs alley oop 360 then an almost 5 m bs 5 mute and finally a 4 meter fs alley-oop stalefish.

7 days, 5 stops, 4 contest - thats the Big Mountain Pro, a freeride tour through the Austrian Alps.
This year conditions varied extremely: From wind packed face to waist deep, avalanchey powder.
French rider Xavier de le Rue won the snowboard category. Xavier’s direct and super-fast approach earned him the respect of his fellow riders to put him in first place.
He was followed by his riding buddy Jeremy Jones from the USA in second place.
Wängl Tängl

While we are doing this episode we got some Video from the Wängl-Tängl. A fun contest with synchronized crew riding in an even more awesome park.
