Once again contest director Mike Parsons didn’t have the easiest of jobs here at J-Bay. Welcome to shralp surf episode 34. At first it looked like everything could have been done and dusted after 5 days. But the weather Gods had different things in mind and played games with Snips. And so the contest dragged on until the second last day of the waiting period. In the end it came down to the usual suspects here at J-Bay, Parko, Kelly, Andy, Taj and Mick and it was the only surfer who scored a perfect ten in the event, Taj Burrow who took home the trophy over Kelly Slater. Going into the Boost Mobile Pro at Lowers, Mick Fanning sits still in first, Taj is now second, Andy third, Slater fourth and Parko fifth.

Young Guns 3
The concept is simple: send the best groms around the world and throw Kelly Slater in there once in a while and you get a sick video. The World Premier of Young Guns three will take place on the 26th of July at the Quiksilver US headquarters in Huntington Beach. If you can’t make it, there’s another one in Capbreton, France during the Quiksilver King of the Grom, which runs from the 31st of July until August 5th.
