Teahupoo, Tahiti // Billabong XXL
To speak in Ari Gold’s (Entourage) terms, it made “BOOM” on November 1st at the end of the road. Welcome to shralp! surf episode 43. A cast of well know big wave chargers flew in to Tahiti to surf a massive very late season swell at Tahiti-iti’s famed break of Teahupoo. Amongst the crew of hell men were Laird Hamilton, Shane Dorian, Dylan Longbottom and of course Tahiti’s very own Manoa Drollet who left French shores in a hurry to get back to Tahiti. And he was right in time to surf the bomb of the day, which will definitely be a contender for the BIggest Tube Award at the 2008 Billabong XXL Awards.

Hot Buttered Soul tells the story of legendary surfboard label Hot Buttered, which started off in the seventies. Plenty off old cool footage and lots of stylish surfboard riding. ///
24th annual Xcel Pro Sunset Beach
While the South West coast of Tahiti got bombarded with swell at the beginning of November, another Polynesian island a bit further North wasn’t that lucky. While the swell was alright for the first two days of competition at the 24th annual Xcel Pro at Sunset Beach on Oahu’s North Shore, the finals had to be held in very small conditions. Nonetheless the spectators got to see plenty of action and three local boys on the podium. Joel Centeio took out the event, Mason Ho finished second and Makua Rothman third.
