Welcome the shralp surf! episode 45. The Billabong Pipeline Masters weren’t exactly blessed with great conditions, but the event had lots of emotional moments nonetheless. Sunny chasing Neco down the beach, Jeremy Flores becoming rookie of the year, Lowe and Occy retiring and of course Bede Durbidge winning not only the contest but also the Triple Crown, pocketing something like 75 000 US $ in the process. Second place went to Dean Morrisson, Pancho Sullivan came third, Parko fourth.
By winning the Pipe Masters, Bede finished his year rated 5th. Parko finished 4th, Kelly third, Taj second and as we all know Mick first.

From the real Banzai to the not so real Banzai. The Italian National Surfing Tour ended its year with good waves at Santa Marinella, a spot not far from Italy’s capital Rome.

La Vaca Gigante
December 16th 2007 / Santa Marina / Santander, Spain
From Santa Marinella, we hop to Santa Marina, a big wave spot near Santander in the North of Spain. On the 16th of December, the waves were big enough to put some of the bravest Spanish big wave riders in the water for the annual La Vaca Gigante. Oscar Gomes charged the hardest and won the contest, Dani Garcia took home the trophy for the heaviest wipe out, which you’ll see at the end of this clip. For more footage check out tow-incenter.com
