May 25th - June 6th / Tavarua, Fiji
Guess who secured his third win of the season in Fiji? Exactly, Mr Kelly Slater. Welcome to episode 57 of shralp surf! There were lots of favorites going into the Globe Pro Fiji, which is back on the calendar after it was cancelled due to political unrest in 2006. Especially the goofy footers like CJ, Bobby and a recovered Damo, but also surfers like Andy who seemed to be back in focus again and Taj who probably wants it more than anyone this year. But it really seems that the surfer with the momentum of the moment is definitely the Champ, who still hasn’t lost a single heat to a WCT surfer this year. Next up is the Billabong Pro J-Bay from July 10th to 20th. More for daily news go to surfersvillage.com

O’Neill The Mission
No luxurious boats, no tropical reef passes. This year the O’Neill Mission cruised around the hexagon and found some fun waves in Brittany. The Mission is an invitational event, which is judged by the competitors, two surfers, in this case Adam Robertson and Hugo Savalli qualified through their results at the O’Neill Highland Open. At the end of the week long event, which saw several motor homes, jeeps and desert vehicles motor along France’s Atlantic coast, it was Australian Julian Wilson who was voted to the top of the podium by his peers. Cory Lopez finished second, Adam Robertson third.
