Thank you Mundaka! Thank you for providing some good waves at last. Welcome to shralp surf! episode 67. Let’s keep this short and sweet, as you probably all know what happened by now. After he couldn’t claim his ninth title in France, Kelly did it with his round three win over local wildcard Eneko Acero in Mundaka. Australian Adrian Buchan who stole the show at the Quik Pro France had yet another good result by surfing into the semis where he was stopped by Parko. But Parko couldn’t overcome an in-form CJ Hobgood, who clinched his maiden Mundaka title with a last minute barrel.
Oakley Pro Junior Global Challenge
September / Keramas, Bali, Indonesia
According to some of the groms, this was the best contest they ever surfed in. Great waves at Keramas, WCT format, everything paid for. Best environment for some of the world’s best juniors to let loose. Second place went to French surfer Marc Lacomare from Hossegor. Winner was Hawaiian Dusty Payne.
Quiksilver German Championships
September 29 - October / Seignosse, France
Just when the top 45 left Hossegor for Mundaka, ze best Germans took over to surf their National Champs in Seignosse. Winner of the men’s division was Nico von Rupp, who also took out the Junior division.
