Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach
April 7th - 18th 2009, Bells Beach, Australia
Welcome to an action packed 80th episode of shralp surf! We start off with the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach. Not many changes on the winner front as Parko also took out the second stop on this year’s Dream Tour. Kelly lost to a wildcard again, this time to Owen Wright and collected his second 17th in a row. Very unusual. Also unusual was the new format, which was applied for the first time and which allows the contest to be run in three days. No more loser’s round. Sudden death. Some prefer it, many don’t like it. It seems that this will be a much discussed topic over the next few weeks and months.
